A Greenfield man previously deemed a sex offender through past convictions was sentenced to serve nearly four years in prison on Tuesday after pleading guilty to a new charge.
Arnold Todd Huntsman, 39, pled guilty in Highland County Common Pleas Court to selling, purchasing, distributing, or delivering dangerous drugs, a fifth-degree felony.
While Huntsman received a six-month sentence for the offense, he was under five years of post-release control supervision by the Adult Parole Authority following a previous prison stint for failing to register as a sex offender.
According to judge Rocky Coss, Huntsman has more than three years of post-release control time, which is to be served consecutive to the six-month sentence imposed on Tuesday.
In another hearing, Paige Lynette Palmer, 52, Circleville, was sentenced to a year in prison, a joint recommendation by the state and defense, for third-degree felony having weapons while under disability. She is also to forfeit the firearm.
Palmer pled guilty to the charge last month.
According to the judge, Palmer has a “fairly extensive … record” beginning when she was a juvenile. Coss also noted that Palmer has had a number of opportunities at various treatment centers through the years.
He said the recommended sentence of 12 months was “appropriate.”
On another matter, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Gregory Wallace, 20, Hillsboro, who failed to appear for a sentencing hearing.
Wallace previously admitted to probation violations and was terminated from intervention in lieu of conviction.
On Tuesday he was set to be sentenced on three counts of fifth-degree felony marijuana trafficking.
