A Hillsboro man on Monday was sentenced to a year and a half in prison after pleading guilty in Highland County Common Pleas Court to heroin trafficking charges.

Nicholas Brown, 28, pled guilty to two fourth-degree felony counts of trafficking in heroin in the vicinity of a school. He was sentenced to nine months in prison on each of the charges. The prison terms were ordered to run consecutively.

According to the plea agreement, two other trafficking charges and four heroin possession charges will be dismissed.

In another hearing, Tad Everett Price, 40, Greenfield, also pled guilty to heroin trafficking in the vicinity of a school, but he will not be sentenced until next week.

The state is recommending nine months in prison for the fourth-degree felony.
