The sixth grade royal court were awarded at the Leesburg Luminaria on Dec. 13. The winners were chosen for their prize essays on “What the Luminaria Means to Me,” judged anonymously by senior English classes. In front, from left are King Xavier Richards, Queen McKenna Colwell, Prince Brandon Zimmerman and Princess Isabella Warner. In back are the Lions officers who organize the yearly event to promote the international Lions Clubs’ cause to cure blindness and other sight problems: Ken Woleab, Leesburg Lions president; Chares Newland, District 13 governor; and Gary Defayette, first vice district governor.
