LC Bowling keeps on rolling

After missing the final cut by one team last year at the Chillicothe Baker Bash, this year’s Lynchburg-Clay’s Varsity Boys Bowling Team bowled their way into the finals. Placing fifth out of 11 teams after the 16 qualifying baker games, the team bowled the 4th seeded team in a best two out of three baker game format. Lynchburg won the first two games putting themselves into the semi-finals. In the semi-finals, after winning the first game and losing the second, the team came back to win advancing the Mustangs into the finals. In an exciting finals, after losing the first game, Lynchburg came back to win the second only to come up a few pins short in the final game.

Both coaches Shawn McLaughlin and Terri Fenner stated that both the boys and girls teams (who also made the final cut at the tournament) have drastically improved this season.

The Lynchburg-Clay Varsity Boys and Girls Bowling Teams both defeated West Union on Thursday evening at Highland Lanes. The Varsity Boys team won by a score of 2376 to 2091. The Boys team set a new school record in the second game of the match with a team score of 971. The Varsity Girls team won by a score of 1584 to 1318. Lynchburg-Clay will bowl Goshen at Eastgate Lanes on Monday.
