Hillsboro Rotary announces annual scholarships


The Hillsboro Rotary Club is announcing the availability of two scholarships for the class of 2016.

One $750 scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating senior who resides in the Hillsboro City School District. In addition, one $750 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who resides in Lynchburg Clay Local School District. Students who reside within Bright Local or Fairfield Local will be extended the opportunity to apply on an alternating basis with Lynchburg Clay in future years.

Scholarship applications may be picked up in the Hillsboro or Lynchburg Clay High School Guidance offices, or by email at [email protected].

In order to be eligible, students must have at least a 3.00 cumulative GPA (on a 4 point basis) or have achieved a composite score of least the 85th percentile on a nationally normed standardized test, must have taken the ACT/ SAT, have demonstrated leadership ability in high school activities and in community sponsored activities, and his or her parent, grandparent or guardian may not be a Rotarian.

Applications are due back in the guidance offices by the end of the school day on April 1.
