A culvert replacement project on Jury Road scheduled for Monday was postponed due to inclement weather.
Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Highland County Highway Maintenance Facility were scheduled to begin the first of a pair of culvert replacements on Jury Road followed by a culvert replacement on Coon Road on Tuesday, May 10.
Due to the steady rain and current forecast, the project has been postponed. Currently, the crews are scheduled to begin the first of the back-to-back, single-day projects Tuesday; however, the schedule will be contingent upon the weather.
When crews are able to undertake the culvert replacements, Jury Road will be closed at its intersection with SR 28, approximately two miles west of Greenfield, for one day, and Coon Road will be closed at its junction with SR 28 the following day. The single-day closures will be in effect from approximately 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, and during periods of closure, motorists will be detoured via CCenterfield Road.
Although SR 28 will remain open during the projects, traffic may be reduced to one lane and maintained by flaggers intermittently throughout both days. In addition, neither Miami Trace Road to the north of Jury Road or Collier Road, north of Coon Road, should be affected by these closures.
Motorists are reminded of the need for additional caution in the work zone, and for additional information on lane and road closures caused by construction, accidents, flooding or other related traffic events throughout the state, visit on ODOT on the web at www.Ohgo.com.
