Hillsboro FFA hosts Food for America event

On May 13, the Hillsboro FFA Chapter participated in the annual Food for America event. This event is hosted by the FFA chapter for the Hillsboro Elementary kindergarten students. The members and students met at vice president Lauren Grover’s house where the event took place. There were four busloads of kindergarten students that participated in the 10 following stations: hayride, grain ID, dairy, planting/soils, farm games, pond, crafts/storytime, chickens, hay maze, and petting zoo. About half way through the 10 stations the members and students took a break for lunch which the FFA chapter grilled out. This created a time of fellowship between the FFA members and the students to get to know each other. The Food for America event allows FFA members to teach the younger students about agriculture in a fun, yet educational way. Pictured standing in the back are the FFA members. Pictured sitting are the kindergarteners.
