Poetry contest open to local residents


The Mt. Orab Branch of the Brown County Public Library and Brown County Writers’ Group are calling for submissions to their 2017 poetry contest. The deadline is at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 6.

All ages are welcome to submit and the contest is free to all residents of Southwest Ohio. You may submit up to four poems per entry. You must include your name, age (or if over 18, adult) address and phone number or email address. Use a legible font such as New Times Roman for submissions.

Send your entries to: Mt. Orab Branch of The Brown County Public Library, 613 S. High St., Mt. Orab, Ohio 45154; or submit online at [email protected]. If entering online, send your poem as a Word document or PDF attachment along with all contact information.

The public is welcome to the groups for reading of the winning poems followed by Poetry and More (open mike) on Thursday, April 27 at 7 p.m. at the Mt. Orab Library. Booklets of the winning poems will be available at the event.
