The Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs hosted a track and field invitational on Thursday, the Mustang boys and girls placed first in the overall standings, with both teams totaling 163 points.
The meet featured teams from Huntington, Whiteoak, Eastern-Brown, West Union, Fayetteville, and Portsmouth.
Kensley Bailey of Whiteoak placed first in the girls 100-meter dash with a time of 13.22. Marcelino Taiyler of Lynchburg-Clay placed second in the event with a time of 13.92.
Lynchburg-Clay’s Zac Carter won the boys 100-meter dash with a time of 11.70. Derrick Ison of Whiteoak placed third with a time of 11.89.
Austin Balon of Lynchburg-Clay was first in the boys 110-meter hurdles finishing in a time of 20.28.
The Mustangs’ girls 4×800-meter relay team finished in second place with a time of 11:38.71.
Brandon McCammon won the 1600-meter run for the Mustangs with a time of 5:04.33.
Taylor Tacket won the girls 400-meter dash for the Wildcats with a time of 1:02.74. Mia McCammon of Lynchburg-Clay placed third with a time of 1:05.17.
Abby Blankenship won the girls 300-meter hurdles for the Mustangs with a time of 52.63.
The Highland county representatives Baily, Taiyler, and Haylee Lay finished first, second, and third respectively in the girls 200-meter dash.
Bobby Merry of Lynchburg-Clay won the boys 800-meter run, finishing in a time of 2:11.97.
Carter, of Lynchburg-Clay, won the boys 200-meter dash with a time of 24.81. Teammate Devin Dehart placed third with a time of 25.99.
This meet was the final meet of the regular season for the Mustangs, they host the Southern Hills Athletic Conference league meet on May 12.
