SR 247 closed in Adams County

The first of two culvert replacement projects on SR 247 in Adams County is underway, and the route is now closed at the 12.32-mile marker.

Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Adams County facility have closed SR 247 between Cross Road and Kimberly Road, midway between West Union and SR 32 at Seaman, to replace a deteriorated pipe.

The route was also scheduled for closure on Wednesday, May 24, between Coon Hill/Paul Copas Road and Tom Brown Road for the second culvert replacement. However, due to this week’s weather forecast, the maintenance crews returned to SR 247 and closed the route Tuesday, May 23.

The route will be closed from approximately 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, and while it is closed motorists will be detoured by way of SR 136 and SR 137.
