Hillsboro Police Department reports

The Hillsboro Police Department has released the following information:

STATISTICS

The statistics for the week beginning Monday, Aug. 21 through Sunday, Aug. 27, 2017 are as follows: police department received 379 calls (13 – 911) investigated eight crashes, took 12 offense reports, made 30 arrests, and completed 128 security checks.

Aug. 21

ACCIDENT

Dana Berryman, 37, of Lynchburg, had exited the parking lot of Tractor Supply Company onto Harry Sauner Road. Berryman stated that traffic had been backed up and she was motioned onto to the roadway by another driver. David Cooper, 65, of Seaman, stated that Berryman’s vehicle entered into the roadway between two cars into his lane of traffic causing him to strike her vehicle. Berryman was cited for failure to yield while entering the roadway. Both vehicles received moderate damage, no injuries were reported.

Aug. 22

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Ashley Crawford, 30, of West Union, was arrested on a bench warrant.

Christopher Conrad, 43, of Washington C.H.,was arrested on a bench warrant.

David Stidham, 36, of Chillicothe, was arrested on a bench warrant.

Lawrence Tolle, 59, of Hillsboro, was cited for driving under suspension.

INCIDENT

A business in the 1000 block of North High Street called to report an entry door to the building being damaged. Officers observed a large dent in the door, causing damage to the door frame. No items were reported missing from the business.

Aug. 24

ACCIDENT

The police department investigated a crash in the 500 block of South East Street. Rava Shifflett, 64, of Hillsboro, had backed from a private driveway onto South East Street when her vehicle was struck by a vehicle driven by Michael Gillman, 57, of Hillsboro, who had pulled onto Sourth East Street from the exit/entrance to Holtfield Station. Minor damage was reported to both vehicles and Gillman was cited for operating a motor vehicle without a valid license.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Jessica Humphrey, 33, of Otway, was cited for assured clear distance ahead.

Nikki Brady, 42, of Columbus, was arrested for theft.

Johnny Fraley, 48, of Columbus, was arrested on a failure to appear bench warrant.

Jeremiah Walker, 37, of Hillsboro, was arrested on a failure to appear bench warrant.

Aug. 25

ACCIDENT

The police department investigated a crash in the 300 block of North High Street. Jacquob Benkiel, 21, of Hillsboro, was traveling northbound on North High Street and failed to see northbound traffic had stopped. Benkiel was unable to stop in time and struck a vehicle operated by Lisa Massie, 49, of Wilmington, which pushed her vehicle into a vehicle driven by Megan Bailey, 18, of Hillsboro, who was attempting to make a left turn. Minor damage was reported to both Massie’s 2011 Chevrolet and Bailey’s 2017 Chevrolet. Benkiel’s 2002 Honda received disabling damage. Benkiel was cited for assured clear distance ahead.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Thomas Dean Wilham, 20, of Hillsboro, was arrested for criminal trespassing and underage consumption.

Donte Shaquille Captain, 22 of Hillsboro, was arrested for assault.

Johnny L. Groves, 32, of Cincinnati, was cited for failure to yield and no operator’s license.

Tyler Eugene Tong, 21, of Hillsboro, was arrested for attempted unlawful purchase of a pseudoephedrine product.

Aug. 26

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Cindy Lynn Curtis, 47, of Hillsboro, was arrested on a failure to appear bench warrant.

William Seth Arpan II, 24, of Hillsboro, was arrested on a failure to appear bench warrant.

Joseph David Temple, 46, of Hillsboro, was cited for driving under suspension.

Joseph Grandville Trivett, 33, of Hillsboro, was arrested on a failure to appear bench warrant.

Aug. 27

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Zachary Tyler Bingamon, 26, of Mount Orab, was arrested for endangering children.

Kristen N. Bingamon, 27, of Mount Orab, was arrested for endangering children.

Eric A. Woodson, 37, of Hillsboro, was cited for public intoxication.
