McClain has three new teachers

McClain High School has welcomed three new teachers for the 2017-18 school year. Audrey Swann is teaching English, Corey White is teaching math, and Blayne Weddington is the band director.

Swann is teaching sophomore English in her first year as a full-time teacher. She was a longterm substitute teacher in her hometown of Pickerington last year. Swann graduated from Miami University and now lives in Washington C.H. Some of the things Swann enjoys are traveling, cooking, watching TV, hanging out with her kitten, Lena, and reading. A fun fact about her is that she has been to four different continents: North America, Europe, Australia and Asia. Swann said McClain is a great place to be, with a beautiful school and students who are welcoming.

White is teaching algebra in his first year at McClain. He is from Chillicothe and taught math, science and algebra there for grades 4-6. White attended Otterbein University and Ohio University-Chillicothe. His wife, Kristen, is a graduate of McClain, so he knows how involved the community is. He said he is excited about the school year and is eager to work with all of the students. Some interesting things about White are: he is in Unioto’s sports hall of fame, and he enjoys breeding show pigs and watching/playing sports. He and Kristen live in Jamestown with their 2-year-old daughter, Hazel.

The new band director at McClain is Blayne Weddington. She is originally from Sylvania, Ohio and now lives in Washington C.H. She’s a recent graduate of Ohio University and she began working as a substitute teacher in Granville soon after receiving her degree. Weddington enjoys traveling and has visited Dublin, Paris, Normandy and Vatican City. When she’s not teaching, she enjoys spending time with friends and family and watching Netflix.
