Highland County Sheriff’s Office reports

Sheriff Donnie Barrera reports for the week of Oct. 23-39, the Highland County Sheriff’s Office received 227 911 calls, answered 138 requests for service, dispatched 112 fire and EMS runs, took 24 offense reports and investigated two traffic crashes.

The sheriff’s office received a 911 call at 5:06 a.m. on Oct. 23 from a Monroe Road residence reporting an assault. An argument between a male and female led to an altercation resulting in physical injury. Karl D. Stollsteimer, 34, was arrested at the scene and transported to the Highland County Justice Center on one count of assault.

At 10:50 p.m. on Oct. 24 the sheriff’s office received an anonymous call about a male and female fighting on Dundee Drive. Deputies were dispatched to the scene and located a husband and wife engaged in a verbal altercation. That matter was resolved without charges being filed. However, Amanda B. Campanaro, of Hillsboro, was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant from Hamilton County.

On Oct. 27 at 1:57 p.m. the sheriff’s office received a report of a possible home invasion on Foraker Street in Madison Township. The victim ran to a nearby relative’s house when a male suspect with a knife entered her home. Deputies were dispatched to the scene along with officers from the Greenfield Police Department. The ordeal stemmed from a verbal altercation between several subjects and escalated to a physical fight with at least one male being stabbed. The incident remains under investigation.
