Highland County Sheriff’s Office reports

Sheriff Donnie Barrera reports that for the week of Nov. 20-26, the Highland County Sheriff’s Office received 219 911 calls, answered 113 requests for service, dispatched 121 fire and EMS runs, took 31 offense reports and investigated two traffic crashes.

Deputies were dispatched to a domestic disturbance call on Nov. 21 at 957 p.m. at a residence on Pied Piper Parkway. A female called the sheriff’s office to report a male had kicked in her front door and was causing problems. Thomas Dale Robinson, Hillsboro, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for assault and transported to the Highland Count Justice Center.

A citizen on Dundee Drive called the sheriff’s office at 11:01 p.m. on Nov. 21 to report someone had entered her residence through a window and several items had been stolen. A deputy responded to the scene to take an offense report and collect evidence.

A deputy was dispatched to the scene of a one-car crash on U.S. Route 62 near Dunlap Road at 9:20 p.m. on Nov. 24. A motorist was southbound when the rental car she was driving struck a couch in the roadway. No injuries were reported and no citations were issued. A crash report was completed for the property damage to the vehicle.

A deputy is currently investigating the theft of license plates from a vehicle on Fisherman’s Wharf Road. The owner called the sheriffs office at 6:29 p.m. on Nov. 26 to report the crime.
