The Hillsboro Indians played their final road game of the 2018 regular season Friday night when they traveled to Miami Trace High School ta take on the Panthers.

It was the final game for Miami Trace with their current high school and stadium.

The Indians got the win over the Panthers, 47-13.

Hillsboro improves to 8-1 overall and is now part of a three-way tie for first place in the Frontier Athletic Conference at 3-1.

Miami Trace falls to 2-7 overall, 0-4 in the conference.

The reason for the three-way tie is that the Washington Blue Lions upended the Chillicothe Cavaliers at Chillicothe, 20-7, handing the Cavs their first conference loss of the season.

Jackson shut out McClain, 55-0 to improve to 3-1 in the FAC.

The Indians started out the scoring with a 62-yard scoring run from Josh Keets.

The extra-point run gave the Indians an 8-0 lead at the 10:09 mark of the first quarter.

Mason Swayne had a long run for Hillsboro that set up the next score, a 1-yard burst across the goal line by Deon Burns.

The point-after kick gave the Indians a 15-0 lead with 6:45 remaining in the first quarter.

Keets then scored on a 61-yard run from scrimmage. The extra point kick was blocked leaving the Indians in front, 21-0 at the 3:43 mark of the first quarter.

Mark Galimore then had a 41-yard touchdown run. the extra point kick was no good, with Hillsboro holding a 27-0 lead.

The Indians scored twice more in the second quarter.

Swayne passed for 10 yards to Luke Middleton with 6:34 to play in the first half. The conversion kick was no good.

The Panthers were knocking on the door of the endzone a bit later in the quarter, but Swayne intercepted a pass in the end zone and ran it out well onto the field of play.

Keets broke a 64-yard run to make it 39-0 with 1:22 to play in the half. The extra point kick was no good.

In the third quarter, Burns scored on a 67-yard run for Hillsboro.

The Panthers got on the board with two touchdowns.

The first was a 9-yard run by Tyler Taylor and the second was a 40-yard run by Josh Liff.

Justin Shoemaker hit one of two extra point attempts to make the final 47-13.

The Indians will host McClain next Friday night and the Panthers will play at Gardner Park against the Blue Lions.
