The Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene held its annual “Trunk or Treat” event Wednesday on the church grounds on U.S. Route 50. Pastor Tom Zile told The Times-Gazette that the church wanted to provide a safe alternative to the traditional beggar’s night with a Christian twist. He estimated that between 500 and 600 children enjoyed the event, which is now in its eighth year.
