Hillsboro Police Department reports

The Hillsboro Police Department has released the following information:

Oct. 18

INCIDENT

At 12:04 p.m., a female came into the police department to report harassment. The female advised her ex-boyfriend would not stop calling and text messaging her phone. He had also been following her and sending photos of her home and place of employment to her. The male, Matthew Garman, 34, of Hillsboro, was charged with telecommunications harassment and menacing by stalking andwas transported to the Highland County Jail.

Oct. 22

ACCIDENT

The police department responded to the area of South High Street and Uhrig Street for a report of a two-car crash. Upon arrival, Amy Stanforth, 35, of Hillsboro, was stopped in traffic on southbound South High Street near Uhrig Street when Lauren Greer, 32, of Hillsboro, was traveling behind her and failed to maintain an assured clear distance ahead. As a result, Greer’s vehicle struck Stanforth’s vehicle in a rear-end type collision. No injuries were reported on scene. Greer was issued a citation for assured clear distance ahead.
