Highland County Sheriff’s Office reports

Sheriff Donnie Barrera reports for the week of Feb. 4-10, the Highland County Sheriff’s Office received 246 911 calls, answered 125 requests for service, dispatched 141 fire and EMS runs, took 27 offense reports and investigated seven traffic crashes.

On Feb. 4 at 9:51 a.m. a citizen in the 8000 block of U.S. Route 62 called the sheriff’s office to report the theft of parts from a vehicle. A deputy was dispatched to the scene and an offense report was taken.

Deputies were dispatched to the 11000 block of Aberdeen Way at 10:28 p.m. on Feb. 7 after the sheriff’s office received a report of a domestic disturbance. All persons involved were interviewed by law enforcement, but no arrests were made. The incident was only verbal with neither party claiming assault.

At 3:29 a.m. on Feb. 9 a citizen came to the Highland County Justice Center to report being assaulted at a residence in the 1000 block of SR 73. A deputy spoke to the victim and an offense report was taken. Charges have been filed on the suspect in connection to this incident.
