(Editor’s Note: In Saturday’s edition of The Times-Gazette the Sports page led with the headline Lions earn FAC Championship. This is incorrect and should have read Lions earn SHAC Championship and has been corrected in the headline above. Also information available at time of press had the Lions winning with a score of 121 points and the Lady Lions second with 111 points, both totals are wrong and have been corrected and reprinted here.)

The Fairfield Lions on Friday at the Fairfield Track and Field complex beat out nine other Southern Hills Athletic Conference teams to earn the title of SHAC Champions and totaled 131 team points at the meet. The Lady Lions earned second place at the event in the girls standings and finished with 119 total points.

The Whiteoak Wildcats took second place in the boys team standing and totaled 98 points at the 2019 SHAC Championships on Friday.

The Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs totaled 56 points at the event and finished in seventh place ahead of Peebles, Fayetteville and Manchester.

The Lady Wildcats from Whiteoak earned sixth place with a total of 44 points on the day and the Lady Mustangs of Lynchburg took seventh place with a total of 41 points.
