Highland County Sheriff’s Office reports

Sheriff Donnie Barrera reports for the week of March 2-8, the Highland County Sheriff’s Office received 275 911 calls, answered 130 requests for service, dispatched 161 fire and EMS runs, took 30 offense reports and investigated three traffic crashes.

At 9:09 p.m. on March 2 a citizen on Harvey Road called 911 to report a domestic disturbance. Deputies dispatched to the scene interviewed parties involved, but no charges were filed. A female, Heather Rea Terwilliger, was arrested on an outstanding bench warrant from Hillsboro Municipal Court and transported to the Highland County Justice Center.

At 2:07 p.m. on March 5 deputies were dispatched to the 6000 block of Beechwood Road to investigate a domestic disturbance complaint. An argument between a mother and daughter resulted in one of the parties calling 911 for assistance. Deputies interviewed both females, but no charges were filed.

On March 6 at 1:15 p.m., a Highland Hills Drive resident came to the Highland County Justice Center to report a theft. The complainant discovered his debit card had been taken and used to withdraw money from his account. An offense report was taken and the incident remains under investigation.

On March 8 at 4:50 p.m. a resident of Concord Road came to the sheriff’s office to report a theft of a firearm. Sometime during the past two weeks the weapon was stolen from the complainant’s vehicle. A deputy took and offense report and the incident remains under investigation.
