Hillsboro Police Department reports


The Hillsboro Police Department has released the following information:

April 26


Chase Holsinger, 26, of Leesburg, was arrested for criminal damaging.


At 1:02 p.m., Daniel Lawwill, 59, of Hillsboro, and Christina Day, 40, of Hillsboro, were both traveling eastbound in the 100 block of West Main Street. Both were approaching the intersection of High Street when Day stopped for traffic. Lawwill was not able to stop his vehicle in time and struck the rear of Day’s vehicle. No injuries were reported. Lawwill was cited for assured clear distance ahead. Minor vehicle damage was reported.

At 11:56 a.m., Deborah Haught, 55, of Hillsboro, pulled out onto North High Street from a business parking lot and headed south into a turn lane. Michael Goen, 53, of New Vienna, was traveling south in the southbound lane. Haught’s vehicle struck Goen’s vehicle on the rear driver’s side. Goen stated some minor injury, but refused medical treatment. Haught was cited for failure to yield while entering the roadway. Minor vehicle damage was reported.
