L-C defense stymies Clinton-Massie

LYNCHBURG — After a slow start, the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs got things rolling and galloped to a 34-23 non-league victory Saturday over Clinton-Massie.

Lynchburg-Clay trailed 6-4 after the first quarter, but led 15-10 and halftime and 27-16 after three quarters.

The Lady Mustangs did not give up more than seven points in any quarter. The 23 points was a season-low for Massie.

The Lady Falcons drop to 3-11 on the year.

Aidan Eades led the Lady Falcons with eight points, all in the first half.

Clinton-Massie was 2 for 9 at the free throw line.

Sierra Benney of Lynchburg led all scorers with 16 points.
