The Highland County Democratic Party will hold its Spring Meeting/Event at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 30 at party headquarters located at 221 Chillicothe Ave., Hillsboro.

David Pepper, former chair of the Ohio Democratic Party, will be the guest speaker. He will discuss the legislation recently passed by the Ohio Republican legislators and signed by the governor that puts restrictions on voting, including how that legislation will impact the country’s service men and women, older Americans, and individuals with disabilities. Pepper will also provide updates regarding the referendum effort by the Ohio Democratic Party to protect families’ and women’s reproductive rights.

Party officers will provide hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and table service. Party members are asked to bring desserts or finger foods, plus an auction item if possible. Bring a folding chair or lawn chair as well.
