Ralph Harl Rickman, 65, of Hillsboro, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at the OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus.

He was born the son of the late Charles Rickman Sr. and Genevieve (Zimmerman) Rickman in Hillsboro on May 31, 1957.

Ralph was kind, compassionate and selfless. He often placed the needs of others before his own. He was a prankster with an infectious laugh. Ralph loved God and often donated to the ministry. His family was showered with his unconditional love and affection. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching family play sports. Martial arts was a longtime passion of Ralph’s having earned a black belt in karate.

He is survived by his daughters, Winter (Kenneth) Smith of Hillsboro and Cheyenne Rickman of Washington Court House; grandchildren, Sinai Roberts, Donesha Riley and Kyler Coates; lifelong partner, Cynthia Rickman; siblings, Charles “Buddy” (Tena) Rickman and Denise (Lester) Sanders; nieces and nephews, Stacey Rickman, Yolanda Mooreman, Richard Rickman, Tracy Barwick, Lemarla Henry, Jonas Henry, Michaela Sanders, Eureka Tyree, Stephen Rickman Jr. and Brandon Rollins; and a special great-nephew, Anthony Anderson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Stephen Rickman and Carolyn Jackson; and nephew, Brian Henry.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023, from 1 p.m. until time of service at 3 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.

In keeping with Ralph’s wishes, he will be cremated following the services.
