U.S. Representative Brad Wenstrup (R-OH) announced Thursday that the winner of the 2023 Congressional Art Competition for Ohio’s 2nd Congressional District is Maria Giannatacsia Cartaino, a home-schooled student from Hillsboro. She won first place this year with her piece, “Bucolic”, which is shown above. Her artwork will be displayed with all winning entries from congressional districts across the country in the U.S. Capitol for one year. She is the daughter of Times-Gazette stringer Juliane Cartaino.
