The Highland County Democratic Party is inviting all voters who would like to understand Issue 1 to The Ally Neighborhood Grille at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2.
David Pepper, a lawyer, writer, political activist, adjunct professor, former elected official and former chairman of the Ohio Democratic Party from 2015-21, will be speaking at 6:30 p.m.
“In order to be good citizens we should be aware of what elected officials are doing in Ohio and other states. Democracy is on the line right now,” the party said in a news release. “Democrats, Republicans and Independents must work together to ensure Ohio is a state for all people. Hope to see you on Aug. 2.”
Pepper has engaged in numerous fights and extensive litigation over voter suppression and election laws in the Buckeye State. He has written four novels that bridge real-world politics and fiction. His new non-fiction book is “Saving Democracy — A Users Manual for Every American”, which is a follow-up to “Laboratories of Autocracy — A Wake Up Call From Behind the Lines”.
