Hillsboro FFA hosts interview event

0

The Hillsboro FFA Chapter recently hosted one of its many competitive events for members of the chapter — a job interview event at Hillsboro High School in order for the members to compete with one another while also learning important employment and speaking skills for their futures.

In this event the FFA members were asked to prepare a resume and cover letter which were to be scored by a panel of judges. During the actual interview section individuals were asked questions from a judge where they had to answer them properly in order to show their skills and separate themselves from the competition. At the conclusion of the interview the contestants were sent to write a follow-up letter in reference to their interview, then properly addressing a letter to be sent out.

All of these skills that were gained in the competition will help advance the participants in many aspects of their lives.

Hillsboro FFA participants who competed were as follows: Senior division — Kathryn Ogden 1st and Abbie Rudy 2nd. Junior division — Corbin Winkle 1st and Maddison Dearmon 2nd, Alexander McClarren, Addyston Knauffand Carter Boyd. Sophomore Division — Reagan Leeth 1st, Aubry Yochum 2nd, and Abigail Fryman. Freshman Division — Adalin Gaines 1st, Claire Winkle 2nd, and Jay Reno.

The Hillsboro FFA Chapter would like to recognize the members who made it to the Sub-District and district competition. Kathryn Ogden earned 1st place at sub-district and second place at district. Abbie Rudy received fifth place at sub-districts. Corbin Winkle received 1st place in both sub-district and district competition. Maddison Dearmon was awarded second place at the sub-district competition and eighth when competing at districts. Reagan Leeth was third at the sub-district event. Claire Winke was third at sub-district and Adalin Gaines was awarded fourth.

The Hillsboro FFA would also like to give special recognition to Corbin Winkle who will be competing in the State Job Interview competition in November. This is a large feat to accomplish and the chapter will be supporting Winkle in his advancement!
