Hillsboro’s Reno captures McDonald’s Invite title

WASHINGTON C.H. — Hillsboro’s Gary Reno captured an individual championship at 175 pounds Saturday at the Miami Trace McDonalds Wrestling Invitational held at Miami Trace High School.

Two others wrestlers from Hillsboro placed in the 20-team event and three wrestlers from McClain also placed.

For Hillsboro, in addition to Reno, Mathias Hostetler took fourth place at 165 pounds and Ian Lawson placed sixth at 285 pounds.

For McClain, Dalton Rowland took fourth place at 132 pounds, Justin Legge took fifth at 215 pounds and Carlos Gonzalez took sixth at 144 pounds.

Teamwise, Hillsboro finished in 12th place and McClain came in 14th.

Team scores were Miami Trace 258.5, Oakwood 166.5, Shawnee 164, Tecumseh 162, 5. London 153.5, Greenville 152, Sidney 135.5, Bellefontaine 116, Chillicothe 109.5, Taylor 86.5, Wyoming 82, Hillsboro 80, Roger Bacon 55, McClain 46, Zane Trace 44.5, Batavia 42, Unioto 34, Cin. Counntry Day 4, Dunbar 0 and Logan Elm 0.
