Two festivals same weekend at fairgrounds

The Highland County Bluegrass Festival will join the third annual Unique, Boutique, & Antique Festival to be held concurrently this year at the Highland County Fairgrounds in Hillsboro on Friday, June 14 from 4-7 p.m. and Saturday, June 15 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

“The bluegrass festival was added to our antique festival this year after the last couple years of just doing it alone,” said Wayne Bowman, a member of the Highland County Fairboard.

He said there are sponsorship opportunities for the bands, and those interested can email the fairgrounds at [email protected].

“We have a little over 50 vendors committed, and we are offering camping that weekend,” said Bowman. “We have two bands on Friday and three bands playing on Saturday for 10 hours of music.

The bands playing Friday are Willow Creek Band at 4 and 6 p.m. and Union Town at 5 and 7 p.m. The bands playing Saturday are Pinnacle Ridge Bluegrass Band at 2 and 5 p.m., Poplar Ridge Band 3 and 6 p.m. and 7 Mile Bluegrass at 4 and 7 p.m.

The will be a $10 daily admission fee.
