The people of Facebook

O.K., I’m about to make some people angry, but please don’t take anything you’re about to read personally. You know, unless it applies to you directly. In that case totally take it personally. What I’m about to do is describe several types of Facebook people as I see them. Please understand that I realize I fit several of these descriptions myself, so hey, I ain’t mad at ya.

Staying cyberSafe while out

One question that’s often asked is how to stay relatively cyber-safe and secure while out and about. There’s a whole range of things you can do depending on how worried you are about your personal electronic security. There are generally two main areas of concern, one being the safety and security of your communications and the other being the trackability of you and your devices. Habakkuk was a prophet writing in the time leading up to the absolute defeat of the little Kingdom of Judah by the powerful Babylonian Empire.

I was often told when I was in law school that I wasn’t being taught the law, but instead I was being taught how to think like a lawyer. Reaching further back, I can recall a college professor confidently asserting that she did not want to teach students what to think, but how to think. What an interesting concept, teaching someone about thinking.

Author’s note — This article was written before the passage of HR 8035, the House bill that specifically included the funding of over $60 billion in aid for Ukraine but was also part of the parcel of legislation that included funding for Israel and Taiwan. Portions of this article reflect the updated fact of the passage of these funding bills.
