A 48 steel alloy bell is not the largest size steel bell ever made by the C.S. Bell Co.

I believe the largest size every listed in the bell listing in the Sears catalog was for 52 inches in one of the early 1890s catalogs. I’m sorry I can give you the exact year, but I borrowed some once from inter library loan, so I don’t have them hanging around.

The only bell I may have seen in that size range might by the Sebring Fire Department bell, but I didn’t have a measuring tape with me.
