A Greenfield man is heading to prison after pleading guilty to drug trafficking charges on Wednesday in Highland County Common Pleas Court.
Paul Bond, 40, pled guilty to two counts of heroin trafficking, both fifth-degree felonies, and one count of trafficking heroin in the vicinity of a school, a fourth-degree felony. He was sentenced to nine months on each count. The sentences are to run consecutively to each other.
In November, Bond was sentenced to a year in prison for nonsupport, a fifth-degree felony. Wednesday’s 27 months are to run consecutive to the previous prison sentence as well, Highland County Common Pleas Court Judge Rocky Coss said.
Bond on Wednesday said that he had sold drugs to support his own drug use.
The judge noted Bond’s criminal record, that he had spent “a lot of time” in and out of prison, and that through the years the defendant had had plenty of opportunity to change things for himself.
In another case, Earnest Jones, 51, Hillsboro, was sentenced to nine months in prison for fifth-degree felony aggravated possession of methamphetamine. He pled guilty to the charge in November.
Thomas Dale Robinson, 36, Hillsboro, was sentenced to eight months in prison after pleading guilty to fifth-degree felony breaking and entering.
David A. Mayse, 18, Mount Orab, was sentenced to community control on four counts of receiving stolen property, which included three fourth-degree felonies and one misdemeanor. The defendant was also ordered to successfully complete recommended treatment, according to court records.
Lindsay Lemons, 23, Washington C.H., was also sentenced to community control and treatment, but on charges of trafficking in heroin in the vicinity of a school and heroin possession. Lemons pled guilty to the fourth- and fifth-degree felony charges in December.
Tiffine L. McCathron, 44, Hillsboro, pled guilty this week to fourth-degree felony theft and was admitted into the prosecutor’s diversion program, which some first-time, low-level felony offenders are eligible for. If McCathron successfully completes the program, the felony charge against her will be dismissed.
Brandon Keith Gibson, aka Brandon Rowe, 35, Bainbridge, pled guilty to third-degree felony illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs. He is scheduled to be sentenced next month.
Similarly, Michael L. Stafford, 29, Columbus, entered a guilty plea to illegal assembly and will be sentenced in February.
Joseph Moore, 84, Greenfield, pled guilty on Wednesday to five counts of fourth-degree felony pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor. Moore is scheduled to be sentenced next month.
William Throckmorton, 27, Greenfield, pled guilty to fourth-degree felony aggravated trafficking in drugs and is set for sentencing in February.
