The Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs fell to defending state champion Cleveland Villa Angela-St.Joseph in a Division III state semifinal game Thursday, 81-64.
The Mustangs trailed just 31-28 at halftime and took a brief lead in the third quarter.
The Mustangs hit 23 of 26 free throws in the game.
Devin Pierson led L-C with 28 points.
Lynchburg-Clay finishes the season 25-3.
VASJ improves to 23-5 and moves on the state championship game for the fourth year in a row at 10:45 a.m. Saturday.
