Sheriff Donnie Barrera reports for the week of Dec. 5 to Dec. 11, 2016, the Highland County Sheriff’s Office received 254 911 calls, answered 150 requests for service, dispatched 127 fire and EMS runs, took 30 offense reports and investigated three traffic crashes.

On Dec. 6 at 9:05 a.m. the sheriff’s office received a report of a domestic violence incident that began at a Mad River Road residence and continued in a vehicle headed toward Hillsboro. The vehicle was located and stopped on Beech Street by sheriff’s deputies and officers from the Hillsboro Police Department. Derik C. Adams, 23, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for domestic violence with additional domestic violence charges also being filed.

Deputies responded to a residence in the 5000 block of State Route 134 at 4:57 a.m. on Dec. 9 following a 911 call reporting a domestic disturbance. An argument between a husband and wife turned physical resulting in the arrest of Alfred F. Biscardi Jr., 51, on one count of domestic violence.

A Buford resident called the sheriff’s office at 3:13 a.m. on Dec. 11 to report several people outside a neighbor’s home arguing and yelling at each other. Deputies were dispatched to the scene where it was determined a domestic assault had occurred. Michael S. Reardon and Susan J. Holaday were both charged with one count of domestic violence. Janie M. Arnett was charged with two counts of domestic violence and one count of violation of a protection order.

At 1:19 p.m. on Dec. 11 a third party called the sheriff’s office to report a domestic disturbance at a residence on Davidson Road. Deputies arrived on scene and interviewed the parties involved and witnesses. Terry L. Johnson, of Otway, was arrested for one count of domestic violence.

A Hillsboro woman was arrested Sunday evening following a domestic dispute at a residence in the 4000 block of U.S. route 62 in New Market Township. A call placed to the sheriff’s office at 8:49 p.m. by the victim led deputies to the home where Karen Phillips, 53, was taken into custody and charged with one count of domestic violence.
