Letter to the Editor: Kudos to Hillsboro Street Department

Letter to the editor:

I have been a resident of Highland County for more years than I care to remember. We lived about three miles out of town for many years before becoming actual Hillsboroans. We have always loved this area.

I recently called to ask if Fairground Road was within the city limits. I reported there was a huge chuckhole there – maybe four feet wide by two feet across and surely one foot deep or more. I had hit it, and was surprised I didn’t lose a wheel.

Just a day or two later I checked it out and it had been repaired.

I wish to thank the street department for its prompt attention to this matter. Where else could area residents receive such immediate response?

I don’t think I know the people who work for the street department, and it didn’t matter. We should consider ourselves fortunate to live in a city such as this.

Thank you.
