
The Fairfield Lady Lions varsity basketball team will open their season on November 27 when they host the East Clinton Lady Astros.
Fairfield is coached by Chad Hamilton and features four seniors and four juniors.
The Lady Lions will be led by Grace Shope, who provides a unique match-up with most guards in the area because of her 5’10” frame.
The team will also be look towards seniors Blake Adams, Ashley Sowards and Carli Reiber to lead the team on and off the court this season.
The Lady Lions will be in Division III for the first time this season.
Shope enters the season currently tied atop the school leader board with 1,199 points.
The Lady Lions have advanced to the D IV district semi-final games the previous two seasons and have also won sectional titles in each of the past two seasons.
Fairfield will look to improve on their overall record from as season ago as they went 12-11 overall and 8-6 in Southern Hills Athletic Conference play.
The Lady Lions will look to repeat the overall success that they have enjoyed the last two years.
