Construction is expected to get underway on U.S. Route 62 in Highland County this week, as contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation will be replacing a bridge at the Hillsboro reservoir.
The project site is situated between Selph Road and Surber Lane, approximately one mile north of Hillsboro, and crews from Allard Excavation will be replacing the existing single-span structure that is over a tributary of Clear Creek with a precast, reinforced concrete four-sided box culvert with reinforced concrete wingwalls.
Construction was scheduled to begin July 23 and throughout the project U.S. 62 will be reduced to one, 10-foot lane and traffic maintained with temporary signals.
Allard Excavation was awarded a contract for $863,791 to replace the structure. All work is scheduled to be completed by late October.
