The 2018 Greenfield Halloween Parade, sponsored each year by the Paint Creek Joint EMS/Fire District, drew an estimated total of more than 500 participants to downtown Greenfield on Tuesday evening.
Costume contests awards are presented in a large number of age groups with the winners receiving $7 for first place, $5 for second place and $3 for third place.
Floats are also judged with the top three receiving prizes. A Paint Creek spokesperson said first place went to the McClain Peewee Football program and that second place went to a float featuring the Greene Countrie Towne Festival Queen and her court. The spokesperson was not sure about the third place winner.
After the parade, each participant was treated to a hot dog, chips and pop. The Paint Creek spokesperson said 520 hot dogs were given away this year.
