A two-truck crash east of New Market Saturday morning claimed the life of a Seaman man, according to the Wilmington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Kelly Knauff, 65, Seaman, was driving a 2003 Ford Ranger westbound on East New Market Road when the state patrol said he failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign at the intersection with Concord Road.
His vehicle struck by a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Robert Stanforth, 20, Hillsboro, who was southbound on Concord Road.
The impact sent both trucks off the roadway and into a ditch.
A preliminary investigation indicated that Knauff wasn’t wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation by the Wilmington State Highway Patrol Post.
The state patrol reminded motorists to always wear a seat belt and obey all traffic signs.
