Grand jury hands down indictments for 11

A Hillsboro man charged with multiple counts of rape was among 11 people indicted Tuesday by a Highland County grand jury.

Brandon Fuller, 31, was indicted on five counts of rape, all first-degree felonies.

According to court documents for all five counts, on or around July 5, 2022, through July 5, 2023, Fuller engaged in sexual conduct with someone under the age of 10 years old.

Also indicted was Derrick Ison, Sr., 41, Hillsboro, on one count of domestic violence, a third-degree felony.

According to court documents, around July 7, 2023, Ison, Sr. knowingly caused or attempted to cause physical harm to a family or household member after having previously been convicted of two or more offenses of domestic violence in Hillsboro Municipal Court.

Mandy Knisley, 47, Greenfield, was indicted on two counts of breaking and entering, both fifth-degree felonies, and theft, a first-degree misdemeanor.

According to court documents for the first count, around June 30, 2023, Knisley trespassed in an unoccupied structure on North Second Street in Greenfield, with the purpose to commit a theft offense.

According to court documents for the second count, around July 1, 2023, Knisley trespassed into the same structure with the purpose to commit a theft offense.

According to court documents for the third count, around the period of June 30, 2023, through July 2, 2023, Knisley stole meat, bait and tackle, and other miscellaneous items without the victim’s consent.

James Freeman, 70, Hillsboro, was indicted on one count of having weapons while under disability, a third-degree felony; retaliation, a third-degree felony; aggravated possession of methamphetamine, a fifth-degree felony; and a forfeiture specification.

According to court documents for the first count, on or around July 17, 2023, Freeman, not having been released from disability, had a Ruger pistol that was used while trafficking in marijuana, a third-degree felony.

According to court documents for the second count, on or around July 17, 2023, Freeman retaliated against a public servant because the public servant discharged their duties as a public servant.

According to court documents for the third count, on or around July 17, 2023, Freeman obtained meth.

According to court documents for the fourth count, the grand jurors found that on or around July 17, 2023, Freeman had in his possession a Ruger pistol that was subject to forfeiture due to its instrumentality in the commission or facilitation of the offense.

David Jones, 38, Hillsboro, and David Bailey, 40, Hillsboro, were both indicted on one count of breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony; and one count of theft, a first-degree misdemeanor.

According to court documents for the first count, around May 16, 2023, Jones and Bailey trespassed in an unoccupied structure at the intersection of Prospect Road and S.R. 247 with the purpose to commit a theft offense inside.

According to court documents for the second count, Jones and Bailey stole miscellaneous tools.

Also indicted on Tuesday were:

* Beverly Nesbit, 71, Hillsboro, for theft by deception, a fifth-degree felony.

* Lindsey Adams, 39, Wilmington, for grand theft of a motor vehicle, a fourth-degree felony.

* Scott Clay, 54, Greenfield, for aggravated trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound, a first-degree felony; and two counts of aggravated possession of a fentanyl-related compound, one being a first-degree felony and the other being a fifth-degree felony.

* Isaac Garrison, 23, Greenfield, for aggravated trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound, a first-degree felony; and aggravated possession in a fentanyl-related compound, a first-degree felony.

* Trenton Zumwalde, 27, Greenfield, for having weapons while under disability, a third-degree felony.
