Bronson Arroyo kindly joined Matt’s Take this week for a question-and-answer. Bronson is one of the most well-known Reds pitchers of my lifetime as he spent roughly eight years with the Reds organization, while also playing for the Pirates, Red Sox and Diamondbacks. Arroyo was a 2006 All-Star, 2004 World Series champion, 2010 Gold Glove Award winner, and one of the most electric, high-kicking, arm-angle changing pitchers in the history of baseball.

Junior Fair Board takes home $5,000 prize

Farm Credit Mid-America and Rural 1st have announced the winners of the second installment of the Fight the Hunger Stock the Trailer Contest. Junior county fair boards from 55 Ohio counties gathered 169,456 pounds of food for 73 food banks over the course of fair season. The Fight the Hunger, Stock the Trailer Contest is hosted on a regional basis. Award money goes directly to Junior Fair activities.

Trace cruises past McClain

A good-sized crowd turned out for the Frontier Athletic Conference’s first night of boys basketball Friday at Miami Trace High School. The Panthers hosted the McClain Tigers, the defending FAC champions. Miami Trace led wire to wire, posting a 58-39 victory.

OHSAA regional final football pairings

The Ohio High School Athletic Association has released the football regional final playoff pairings and neutral sites. Division I, II, III and V will play on Friday, while Division IV, VI and VII will play on Saturday. All games kick off at 7 p.m.
