Ohio Issue 1 fails across the state, not locally
Although voters in Highland County unofficially approved of Ohio Issue 1 in Tuesday’s special election, about 57 percent of voters statewide rejected the ballot initiative.
Former deputy not guilty of reckless homicide
Former Highland County Sheriff’s Deputy Jonathan Malone, who was charged in the fatal shooting death of a Hillsboro man last summer, was found not guilty of reckless homicide on Wednesday by a jury in Highland County Common Pleas Court.
‘Why not do it here’
Wilmington College’s new graduate program in occupational therapy places a focus on preparing professionals to serve rural communities. Its mission came to life with this summer’s Therapeutic Riding Camp, which offered one of the enduring symbols of rural life — horseback riding — to area children with disabilities.
