The Fairfield Lady Lions played host Monday to the McClain Lady Tigers at Buckeye Hills Country Club, which also serves as McClain’s home course, and the Lady Tigers came away with a close 250-256 victory.

Professional football finally arrived over this past week and I was more than excited to finally get back to watching Bengals football. We have finally got to a point where we are expecting to be the best team in football each year and it’s a great feeling. Unfortunately though, this team put together possibly its worst performance in recent memory. The final score of 24-3 isn’t what I was expecting to begin the season, but the biggest concern I have for this team is how they plan to completely turn this around in just seven days.

After a split with the Chicago Cubs over the weekend, Cincinnati remained tied as of Monday morning with three other teams for the final wildcard spot in the National League. With only a few series left to end the season, Cincinnati can no longer rely on remaining even in each series, as they have to find a way to make up ground. They sat at 71-68 with upcoming series against the Mariners, Cardinals and Tigers.

The McClain Lady Tigers girls’ golf team honored its lone senior, Jacolyn Bolender, as they hosted a match Thursday with Zane Trace and Piketon at Buckeye Hills Golf Course.

While Cincinnati still holds a winning record of 68-64, they are certainly beginning to worry the fan base as their inconsistency has become a problem since the All-Star Break.
