Investigators Randy Sanders and Chris Bowen of the Highland County Prosecutor’s Office and Chief Deputy Brandon Stratton of the Highland County Sheriff’s Office spoke about current trends in drug enforcement in the county during a Wednesday meeting of the Highland County Drug Abuse Prevention Coalition.

Leesburg Luminaria returns to downtown

The Leesburg Lions Club is scheduled to bring back one of its most popular events, the Leesburg Luminaria, on Sunday, Dec. 10.

St. Benignus Church to offer free Christmas dinners

Once again this year, thanks to the efforts of more than 50 volunteers and donations from local individuals, businesses and organizations, St. Benignus Catholic Church in Greenfield will offer free Christmas dinners to those in need on Christmas Day from 12 to 2 p.m.

Fundraiser for explosion victims

A fundraiser is being held to support the families of the three people killed from the apparent explosion and resulting fire at Jimbo’s Auto Repair in Hillsboro, plus the family of Desiree Pleasure, who died after apparently going into cardiac arrest at the same time as the fire on Nov. 28.

Gas prices continue to fall

Gas prices have continued to fall even further despite oil prices climbing, according to a news release and statistics from the American Automobile Association (AAA).

Church re-enacting a night in Bethlehem

A re-enactment of a night in Bethlehem with a life-sized nativity scene will be held at the Hillsboro Global Methodist Church at 135 E. Walnut St., Sunday, Dec. 10 from 5-7 p.m.
