McClain FFA 7th at state contest

0

The McClain FFA Chapter took four members to the state livestock judging contest on April 28, where the team placed seventh. First, the chapter brought several of its members to the preliminary contest where there were over 1,000 individuals participating. From there, they placed in the top 10 so that they could move on to the final round. They placed four classes of animals and were tasked with presenting their reasons for their placing for judges. They also had to do a team activity. Their seventh place allows the team to travel to the World Beef Expo in Wisconsin next fall. The four are pictured (l-r) Toree Wareiks, Hannah Crago, Cade Sponcil and Hunter Miller.

This week we celebrate the National Day of Prayer. Since 1988, when President Reagan signed into law public law 100-307, the first Thursday of May is a significant time when we as a nation and community can gather and rejoice in all that God is doing for us. At the same time, we should be repenting for our sins and coming as humble servants approaching the throne of grace seeking God’s grace and mercy for our times of need.

The Area Agency on Aging District 7 (AAA7) needs your help and so do your neighbors who are older or living with a disability. Do you know a graduating high school senior that will be looking for summer or immediate employment or a stay-at- home parent that wants to keep their foot in the door of the workforce? Maybe you or someone you know is a recent retiree and would like some part-time work. If any of these scenarios apply to you or someone you know, please consider becoming a Home Health Aide.
