Overdose deaths cut in half
Highland County saw half the number of drug overdose deaths in 2023 that it did in 2022, according to Highland County Coroner Jeff Beery. There were 16 drug overdose deaths in Highland County in 2022 and eight in 2023.
FRS app will allow passengers to book transit rides
FRS Transportation in Highland County is working to utilize the Mobility by Ecolane app to allow people to book public transit rides within Highland, Adams and Brown counties through the system and is planning to have it fully operational in March.
